Quick Quotes

Q. Brian, another great round; put yourself in contention. What were the keys for you today?

BRIAN CAMPBELL: Really just hanging in there again. It was super windy early on. I think everybody had to play in that gusty wind. I birdied the first two holes so I was feeling pretty good after that.

Then it was just hard to make anything. Hard to hit it close after that. So I was watching the scores and I knew that we just needed to hang around and keep getting chances.

Again, got a few more in the end there.

Q. At what point did you realize today was not going to be birdiefest as this course tends to be and more, hey, we got to grind it out?

BRIAN CAMPBELL: Yeah, because we all have to play around the same time we all know we're going to have the same conditions. And then we saw 15 to 16 mile an hour winds and pretty gusty out here because the trees just whip around.

You really just got to position yourself well, and you can get on the wrong side of holes quickly.

Q. Talk about the finish at 18 and how much that helps you going into tomorrow. Take us through 18.

BRIAN CAMPBELL: Yeah, always love to see a putt go in on 18. Hopefully going to have one of those tomorrow for something bigger.

But, yeah, just really was kind of far back there right into the wind with a 6-iron in the fairway and gave myself a look. My caddie said I'm due for a long one and sure enough, it went in it. That was awesome.

Q. Does that help you momentum-wise sort of getting you off to a nice start tomorrow?

BRIAN CAMPBELL: Yeah, I would like to think so. I'm going to keep doing the same thing, same routine, and I think not get too ahead of why you self if you don't get off to a fast start and stay steady.

Q. It's so bunched. Tomorrow heading in, do you have a mentality of, I got to play careful, do I go aggressive?

BRIAN CAMPBELL: I think it's fair to assume that the weather is going to be nice tomorrow, and I think it's going to be back to another birdiefest; guys coming from deep behind, especially with the twosomes. So, again, I think got to be aggressive tomorrow.

Q. We love that; do you love that?

BRIAN CAMPBELL: Yeah, I love whatever is put in front of me. I love the wind. You know, going to school in Illinois that's all we played in. I'm used to it. I like to get creative with it.

Again, if it's a birdiefest go out and make a lot of birdies.

Q. Does having a win now give you more comfort in the position you're in?

BRIAN CAMPBELL: Oh, definitely. It secures a lot of confidence in your game and what you're doing; frees you up a little bit.

At the same time, you can't get lazy out here. Nothing is given to you. Really out here you got to earn it every step of the way.
